Timing Controller

This PC card timing controller serves to control the timing of tof instruments.
We use it for timing of our MALDI-Mobility/tof instrument.

• excellent timing stability (less than 10 ns jitter) compared to other pulse generators
• up to 5 TTL timing signals for activation of pulsers, TDC, triggering, veto, and other timing needs
• software programmable, no need for confusing programming of pulse generators
• compact and inexpensive design

this is a sample interface for the timing controller used in MALDI-Mobility/tof instrument with very complicated timing requirement:

• A Laser triggers the MALDI (matrix assisted laser desorption) at 20 Hz.
• After each laser pulse, the ions are seperated in the mobility drift cell.
• When the first ions arrive (after 0.05 ms), the tof mass spectrometer samples the ions at a frequency of 100 kHz.
